What this is

Kept Evidence documents real criminal cases from the public record for information and education. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Accuracy

Every factual statement on a case page is tied to a published source, and we correct errors when they are shown to us (see Corrections). Even so, sources can be wrong and cases change. The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and nothing here is legal advice or an official record.

Dramatized accounts

Sections and episodes labeled as dramatized are narrative retellings built on the sourced facts. Atmosphere and pacing are interpretive. They are not documentary evidence and should not be cited as such.

People named here

Anyone described as charged or suspected is presumed innocent unless convicted. Do not use anything on this site to contact, harass, or identify private individuals.

Our content

The writing, narration, design and compilation on this site and in our episodes are ours. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short passages with credit and a link. Please do not republish case pages, scripts or audio in full, read them out in your own videos or podcasts, or use them to train or build automated systems, without written permission. Official records and third-party reporting that we cite belong to their respective owners.
